Welcome to Flipslide Version 1.0
In case you don't know me, my name is Michael Highland, and Flipslide.net is an experimental site I came up with to try out some new ways of experiencing art on the web. If you're involved at this stage, you're probably one of a handful of artists that's been invited to submit work to Flipslide. Until there is a decent number of images in the database I can't even begin to build or test the site's main attraction. With your help I'm hoping to unveil it May 1st.
The Goal: 1000 Images
I know it sounds like a lot, but at 20 images per person that's only 50 members. Facebook has like 10 times that. And Flickr gets over 5000 images submitted every minute - we can do this!
Plus, for a limited time, for every 10 images you upload I will buy you a beer. A good one too, from a tap, in a frosty glass. Seriously I will. Just upload your images and give me a call (609) 577-0933
What's with these sliders?
With Flipslide, each image submitted is subjectively tagged by the artist. This organic data will be used in the sites main attraction: an interactive slideshow for exploring art and what it means to different people.
What is Flipslide?
- A website for artists to get their work seen.
- An interactive organic interface for exploring your interest in art.
- A totally new way to organize user generated content.
- Not another overly complicated social networking site masquerading as something you really need.
What I need you to do:
Upload 10-20 portfolio quality images of your work, and use the sliders to tag them to the best of your ability.
I broke it, now what?
This is the very first public version of this site. It's full of bugs. Most of which I can fix real easy. If something is acting up, shoot me an email at support@flipslide.net
